Letter 56: Not Much Time

October 20, 2014

Hey guys, I don’t have much time. I’m trying to keep the email time to an hour itself today, but Brazil fun fact for the week is that they have a word for the thing you plug a lightbulb into. I can’t think of a word in English for this thing. But they call it a bocal in Portuguese.

But nothing is happening with our investigators. It’s really sad. I don’t know why. Elder Eddington and I are trying to do everything we can to help these people progress, but it’s not working. We are starting to do a lesson with all of the members, helping them do missionary work, but those referrals will come in a couple weeks or so, so we’re just kind of trying to work on our own, but it’s difficult.

We’re devoting ourselves to exact obedience, and to consecrating everything to missionary work. I want to see miracles, but sometimes, we’re too stuck in a rut of wanting to see a miracle, that we miss the opportunities. Just pray for us, is that alright? Thanks guys. And don’t worry, this next week will be a happier week. This was just a hard one. They tell me that weeks like these happen on the mission, but I didn’t know what it felt like until it happened. We just need miracles.

Love,

Elder Weeks
